Awas Score began with a question: could software make housing eligibility easier to understand? Different schemes ask different things of a family, but the information needed to assess those requirements often overlaps.
Our answer is Awas Score, a product that brings those requirements into a single assessment and makes the outcome easier to interpret.
Turning requirements into software
At its core is a rules-based engine. It evaluates a household’s circumstances against the published criteria of supported housing schemes, using information such as location, income, housing conditions, and family composition.
A single set of answers can be assessed across relevant schemes, giving users a consistent way to compare their position without working through each set of requirements separately.
Making the result understandable
The assessment produces a score out of 100 alongside a breakdown for each scheme. That breakdown identifies requirements met and gaps that deserve attention before applying.
We designed the report to explain the result, so users can understand what contributed to their score and which details or requirements they should review next.
Ready to explore
Awas Score is available on the web, with English and Hindi flows. An Android app is in development as we continue building the product.
The assessment reflects eligibility criteria, not an official decision. Awas Score is independent of the government, and approval remains with the relevant authorities.
