A challan you never saw, found months later. Insurance that ran out with no reminder. A used car that arrives with the last owner’s unpaid fines. Vehicle records in India are public, but they are spread across many government websites, and most people only look once there is already a problem.
Vahan Radar is how we’re fixing that. It puts vehicle, challan, and driving licence checks in one place, then keeps an eye on the vehicles that matter to you, so you can see what’s ahead.
One number, every detail
Type a vehicle number as it appears on the plate, and a few seconds later you see the owner, model, fuel, registering RTO, RC status, insurance, PUC, fitness, tax, any loan, and pending challans on one screen. It works for any vehicle registered in India, including BH-series numbers, which makes it useful before you buy a used vehicle too. Owner names are partly hidden to protect people’s privacy, and phone numbers and addresses are never shown.
For a driving licence, enter the licence number and the holder’s date of birth to see its status, validity, vehicle classes, and issuing RTO. Vehicle, challan, and licence checks are all free, with no sign-up.
Check and pay e-challans
Enter a vehicle or challan number to see each challan’s offence, date, place, and amount, then choose the ones to pay online. The fine goes to the government through an authorised payment partner. Paying through Vahan Radar adds a convenience fee of ₹99 per challan, GST included, and you get a receipt. If a challan has gone to court, Vahan Radar shows which court has it.
The site also lists the fine for each traffic offence, and explains how to contest a wrong challan and how to spot a fake one. Scam messages copy real challans, so never pay through a link sent by SMS or WhatsApp.
Radar Plus: hear about it first
Radar Plus checks your vehicle every morning. You get an alert on WhatsApp and email for every new challan, and a reminder before your insurance, PUC, RC, or fitness is due. Add your driving licence, and it reminds you before that expires too.
It costs ₹199 per vehicle for a full year, GST included, with a full refund within 7 days of paying. Free checks stay free and don’t need an account.
Apps on the way
Vahan Radar is made for phones and works in the browser, with nothing to install. Android and iOS apps are coming soon, and we’ll add the links to our Products page once they’re available.
What Vahan Radar is not
Vahan Radar is independent. It is not part of Vahan, the government’s national vehicle register, and it is not a government website, an RTO, or an agent. It shows public government records as they are and cannot change them, and it cannot cancel or reduce a fine. What it shows is information, not an official document or legal advice, so for official work, use your RTO or the official transport website. Government websites are sometimes slow, so an alert can come late.
